New Season

Well, gosh!  Only back from Edinburgh for a month and I've already got two new performances to blog about.

There's been a bit of a change.  The bandwidth on my previous blog was exceeded.  Do I have the faintest idea what that means?  No.  Has someone tried to explain it to me?  Yes.  All I understood was that this blogspot was possibly a good place to go.  So I've gone here.  Fingers crossed it works.

Last week I returned to the Stahl Theatre, Oundle.  Very different being on a stage large enough to hold a cast of a hundred or more compared with my little Edinburgh space, but lovely to be performing Double Booked again after a three week rest.  In more ways than one this performance felt like I was revisiting old friends.   Hideous for Rosie to have to endure her mother performing on her own school stage again.  I only have to imagine how I would feel if it were my own mother.   God bless her, but it does help me understand how excrutiating it must be.  Character building?  Isn't that just a euphemism for something deeply embarrassing?

This week found me starting a new Live and Local season in the little village hall in Monks Kirby, north Warwickshire.  This wasn't Broadway, nor the West End perhaps but I'm not complaining.   To me, any appreciative audience brought together by community spirit and a love of live theatre is a blessing.  Yes, it's great to wow a big audience in a classy venue,  but is it any better?  I don't think so ... but that isn't to say that I'm not really, really excited about the forthcoming shows in at the Bridge House Theatre, Warwick and Pleasance, Islington in October.
